  • Develops golf course maintenance plans, strategies, goals and objectives in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Cochiti Community Development Corporation.
  • Establishes, implements and communicates goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Improves staff effectiveness by counseling, training and recommending disciplinary action for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner; reviews and approves timesheets.
  • Hosts regular staff meetings to ensure communication between personnel and departmental activities.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing and administering annual budget; presenting and justifying budget recommendations to appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinates maintenance and construction activities with Director of Golf to assure continual smooth operation of the golf course.
  • Determines, calculates, and secures the appropriate materials and supplies for a specific project within budget guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains a golf course maintenance management system; provides necessary supervision, direction, and assistance to crews at work sites.
  • Works with Pro Shop staff to coordinate tournaments, special events and other requests as needed.
  • Establishes and manages inventories of golf course grounds keeping equipment, facilities, and supplies, and monitors their cost-effective utilization; orders parts as needed.
  • Manages and reviews irrigation systems performance and initiates changes when necessary.
  • Develops and implements systems to maintain records and/or inventories on equipment, employees, facilities, and/or maintenance activities.
  • Performs duties of Greens Keeper and Irrigations Specialist to include mowing greens and fairways; operating back hoe; fixing water leaks; and fertilizing the course as needed.
  • Contributes to department’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and goals that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of actions; implementing directives.
  • Keeps Director of Golf and other departments informed of status of department activities by attending meetings and submitting reports.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
